Cuban judoka Andy Granda became the world champion in 2022 in Tashkent as first male Cuban since 2013. Andy captured bronze at the Grand Prix in Antalya in 2018. He clinched a bronze medal at the Pan American Championship in 2019 in Lima and gold medal in 2022 in Lima. He took a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Paris in 2020. He bagged a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Tbilisi in 2021. He took bronze at the Grand Slam in Antalya in 2022. He bagged a bronze medal at the European Open in Oberwart in 2022.
