Judo in Slovakia had its best judoka in Jozef Krnac. Krnac won Olympic silver in 2004. Jozef Krnac also won European medals in 2001 and 2002. Semir Pepic, Boris Novotny and Miroslava Janosikova were European medallists as well for Judo Slovakia. The Slovak Judo Federation had Milan Randl qualified for the London Olympic Games. Also Zoltán Palkovacs was a popular judoka qualified for two Olympic Games. He died in 2010 after a car accident. Also Marek Matuszek participated twice. Milan Randl participated 7 times at World Championships. The main event is the European Open in Bratislava.
