Dutch judoka Joanne Van Lieshout became world champion in 2024 in Abu Dhabi after bronze at the 2023 Worlds in Doha. She captured the Junior world title in 2021 and 2022. Joanne attained silver at the 2024 European Championships in Zagreb. She claimed the European U23 title in 2020 in Porec. Joanne took gold at the EYOF in Baku in 2019. Joanne won the Grand Prix of Portugal in 2022 and the 2024 Grand Prix Upper Austria in Linz. She clinched a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Tokyo and Astana in 2023 and took bronze at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2022, Baku and Tbilisi in 2024.
