The final U63kg of the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi opposed Dutch World Number 4 and bronze medallist at the 2013 World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Anicka Van Emden and Slovenian Tina Trstenjak, World Number 5 and bronze medallist at the 2014 World Championships in Chelyabinsk.

Both competitors being the two top seeded athletes of the category, the hierarchy was perfectly respected. After two minutes, Trstenjak launched a series of uchi-mata before suddenly changing direction with a sumi-gaeshi for waza-ari followed by an immobilisation for ippon.

The first bronze medal fight saw Estefania Garcia (ECU) and Agata Ozdoba (POL) fighting for a place on the podium. The Polish fighter gave no chance to GARCIA, wining by ippon with an armlock after less than a minute.

The second bronze medal was won by the German, Martyna TRAJDOS, World Number 8, winner of the Qingdao Grand Prix last year, who threw her opponent Kathrin UNTERWURZACHER (AUT), with a upper-body movement, for ippon.
