USA Judo is heart-broken to share the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of former USA Judo National Team member Alexa Liddie (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

Alexa is the daughter of 1984 USA Judo Olympic bronze medalist and long-time USA Judo High Performance Director Ed Liddie and his wife Tammie (also a former elite judoka and current Associate Director of NGB Services for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee), Alexa trained at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. and represented her country at the world elite level at the junior and senior levels. She was a member of the USA Judo Senior National Team from 2010-2013. Career highlights included placing seventh at the International Judo Federation’s 2012 World Cup in Miami, Fla. and competing at the 2013 World Judo Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Following her retirement from competitive judo, she continued to be an ambassador for USA Judo and the sport she loved by doing public appearances and demonstrations; most recently at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum in October 2020 in Colorado Springs to commemorate World Judo Day.
