Judo this weekend in Tyumen, Sindelfingen and Wroclaw

This weekend the Grand Slam of Tyumen will take place. Last year strong teams of Japan and Brazil both claimed five titles. In this edition more than 300 athletes are ready to gain the Olympic qualification points and 154,000 dollar of prize money. Athletes from 55 nations have registered so far.

Also this weekend the European Cup for Seniors in Sindelfingen, the German Open. More than 250 athletes will gather in Sindelfingen from 26 nations. Although most of the German top athletes will go to Tyumen, Miryam Roper will fight in Sindelfingen. Also former World Junior champion Sappho Coban will fight at the German Open.
At junior level the European Cup for Juniors will take place in Wroclaw. In Poland the German youngsters were strong last year with 5 titles, so Germany is flying out everywhere, as usual. Four Japanese juniors and four Dutch judoka won the titles as well in the west of Poland. Some of them have reached a good progression in one year and won medals at Senior Grand Prix level.
Who knows, next year they have to fight at the Grand Slam. Busy judo weekend for JudoInside and all judo fans.
