Cuban coach Ronaldo Veitia announces retirement

Famous Cuban coach announced he will go on retirement after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, after several years as the architect of the excellent results achieved by Cuban judokas in the international arena. At the Pan American Games, the successful coach secured three gold medals with the Cuban team. Dayaris Mestre U48, Magdiel Estrada men’s U73kg and Idalys Ortiz +78kg won gold for Cuba.
The coach said: “This is the seventh consecutive time we win, since Havana 1991, Veitia told yesterday the press minutes after Idalys Ortiz to win the gold medal in the division of more than 78 kilograms.”
In fact JudoInside.com found out that Cuba won consecutive gold medals since 1975 at the Pan American Games.

Veitia also mentioned that Driulis Gonzalez-already retired, a member for many years of the national team, Olympic and universal monarch, will be inducted into the World Hall of Fame of the sport.
Gonzalez is the only athlete who won the Pan American Games four times, she was Olympic Champion in 1996 and won four consecutive Olympic medals from 1992-2004 and was triple world champion, she won 7 medals in 8 participations.
