Chihiro Yamaguchi Yamaguchi defeated Hayun Kim in the Grand Slam final +78kg with a o-uchi-gari engaged as she was taking the grip. Ippon! And an other bronze medal for Japan.

Two-time junior world champion (Guayaquil and Odivelas), already a winner in Tokyo in 2023, Mao Arai (JPN) is starting to get to know the place. Once again, she qualified for the final at the expense of Hayun Kim (KOR) in the semi-final.
Her opponent in the final was the top seed of pool D, Elis Startseva (IJF), after she won against the Chinese Jinesinuer Ayiman in the semi-final with two indisputable waza-ari.
If Startseva seemed to take advantage of her taller size and was about to pin down her opponent, at the last moment, Arai turned over the situation and controlled Startseva for 20 seconds for ippon. Gold medal for Arai.
The first match for a bronze medal saw Ruri Takahashi (JPN) face Jinesinuer Ayiman (CHN). In the golden score, Takahashi managed to turn a o-soto-gari into a seoi-otoshi for waza-ari. Bronze medal for Takahashi
