Russian judoka David Karapetyan took gold at the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2023. Finished seventh at the 2024 worlds in Abu Dhabi. He clinched a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Tokyo in 2023. He won the European Cup U21 in Coimbra in 2019. He claimed a bronze medal at the Junior European Cup in Berlin in 2019. He claimed the gold at the World U21 Championships in Marrakech. He took the Junior European title in Porec in 2020.
