Philomene Bata of Cameroon won various African Championships medals since 2004 U48kg. More than a decade she takes various prizes. She took a bronze medal at the European Cup in Belgrade in 2018. Five-time African Championships medallist Bata is a stalwart for her team and will be one of the oldest judoka in the eight-day competition this year. Bata lives in Hungary where she is supported to train at the IJF Training Centre in Dunavarsány.
