Portuguese judoka Catarina Rodrigues was 2001 World bronze medallist. She won the World Cups in Prague (2001) and Sofia (2002) and 6 World Cup medals in total. Rodrigues is multiple Portuguese Judo Champion. After her career she became the only female Sports Director of the EJU and moved up as EJU vice President Sports.
