He was highly ranked 8th dan in November 2017, Georges Benoit had received from the FFJDA the Great Gold Medal (1991), the Vermeil medal from the Grand Council of Black Belts (1997), then the Palme d'Or (2001).he claimed 23 times League Champion (seniors) - 3 times Interregional Champion (seniors) - 6 times 5th in the French championship (seniors) - 1 time national podium in senior (light heavyweight). He was a French international (1965-1974). Georges passed away in 2022 aged 76.
