Garima Choudhary of India participated at the major events such as Olympic Games London and various World Championships and Commonwealth Games. Lack of support from her home state Uttar Pradesh was not enough to deter her from competing nationally. She took part in the 2011 World Championships in Paris and thereafter at the Asian Championships in 2012. She made Indian sports coaches and administrators retain her for the subsequent Commonwealth Games and Incheon Asian Games. She clinched a silver medal at the Asian Open in Kuwait in 2023.
